The essential difference in service is not machines or ‘things.’ The essential difference is minds, hearts, spirits, and souls.

First things first we need to remember that our team is made up of fillable humans with minds, hearts, spirits, and souls that sometimes don’t bring their best to work. This is where you, the exceptional salon owner can utilize these 5 tips to inspire them to bring their best.

  1. Allow your team to take ownership of different areas of the company. Taking over social media, planning a team-building event, developing salon education, etc.⁣

  2. Everyone is inspired and motivated by something different. Ask each team member what that is for them and keep that in mind when you're setting goals.⁣

  3. Be a cheerleader more than you're a coach. For every corrective piece of feedback you give, praise 3x more.⁣

  4. Make them part of the mission and communicate your vision and goals. Make sure the why is loud and clear and keep that at the forefront of every decision that is made.⁣

  5. The energy of the culture starts with you. If you're not excited, your team won't be either. Your mindset is your biggest strength.⁣

Leading an organization is as much about soul as it is about systems. Effective leadership finds its source in understanding.
